Jane Cha Cutler is a Producer with Sony’s This Machine Filmworks. Her recent and upcoming projects include Martha for Netflix, A-24 Films Marc by Sofia documentary about designer Marc Jacobs directed by Sofia Coppola, Elton John: Never Too Late for Disney, “Dear …” for Apple, documentaries about Julie Andrews for Hulu and Stephen Sondheim & James Lapine’s Sunday in the Park with George for HBO, and Lee Soo Man: The King of K-Pop and “eSports World Cup: Level Up” for Amazon. She started her career in nonfiction television as the President of Production at Full Picture, co-creating and Executive Producing the global hit format “Project Runway” and its spinoffs.
Past projects include Apple TV+ series “Dear…” showcasing icons such as Oprah Winfrey, Lin Manuel Miranda, Spike Lee, Stevie Wonder, Gloria Steinem, Selena Gomez and Jane Fonda; docu-series “SUPREME MODELS: Iconic Black Women who Revolutionized Fashion” in partnership with Iman, and animated series “Fashimals“ based on Grace Coddington’s “Catwalk Cats.”
She served as co-creator and Executive Producer of the hit television series “Project Runway” for sixteen seasons. Cha Cutler has received 15 Emmy and 13 Producers Guild nominations and is the recipient of the prestigious Peabody, GLAAD and Gracie Awards as well as a New York Mayoral Proclamation.
Cha Cutler co-created and Executive Produced “Project Runway Junior,” :Models of the Runway” and “Threads,” and Executive Produced series including “HomeGrown Makeover,” “Now What?”, “Seriously Funny Kids”, “Stylista,” “FashionNation,” and “NYC Fashion Week TV".”
As President of Production for Full Picture, Inc., Cha Cutler spent eighteen years focused on television and digital production. She also partnered with top designers, editors and brand ambassadors, creating strategic initiatives. These included a limited-edition collection under the auspices of First Lady Michelle
Obama’s Let Girls Learn Peace Corps initiative; a first of its kind Zac Posen runway show with custom-coded garments in collaboration with Google’s Made with Code; and an eventized virtual reality NY Fashion Week finale. Cha Cutler was a key figure in the creation of the televised “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.” She also produced fashion shows worldwide, including the centerpiece for a California Trade Mission to China.
Cha Cutler’s work in digital and streaming production included serving as co-creator and executive producer of the YouTube’s, LOOK.TV in partnership with Bedrock Ventures, as well as supermodel Heidi Klum’s digital network with award-winning verticals in Fashion, Beauty, Wellness and Relationships. She was also one of the founders of portal Modelinia. This content won awards including the International Academy of the Visual Arts’ W3. Cha Cutler also worked on a wide array of digital content for high profile talent including Zendaya and K-pop artists.
Cha Cutler served as special projects consultant with Korean conglomerate SK Group, for which she launched apps such as StyleTag, Chat Frankly and SK Minute. Her VR project, Manic Maze, was a collaboration with the pioneering VR company Emblematic.
Cha Cutler is on the Board of Big Brothers, Big Sisters Los Angeles, which honored her with the Sherry Lansing Award; she also served as a Mentor for the Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment program. She is Co-Chair of the Entertainment Leadership Council at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and a member of Korean American Leaders of Hollywood.
Prior to the founding of Full Picture, Cha Cutler held positions at Rogers & Cowan, Entertainment Tonight and ABC. While studying Government at Harvard University, she worked on numerous political campaigns. Cha Cutler lives in Los Angeles with her husband, R. J. Cutler and 3 children.
